ECU type question

I've read in a lot of places that after several bolton modifications the best way to get increased performamce is with an ECU replacement. (Other then Turbo all you FI people;) )

Can anyone offer some insight on how hard these systems are to setup? I'd be willing to install one but being relativly new to the tuning scene I can see me making mistakes. How hard are engine mgmt systems to use? Would a layman with some study be able to properly tune an engine?

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

There is no replacement ECU available currently for the protege. Piggyback systems can offer an improvement, but not like standalone.

Ok thanks for the heads up. I've written them an email asking for adivce. My one concern is making sure whatever I do will in fact be easiest enough to use that I don't blow things up.

Thanks for the help
