EBC Yellow Stuff suitable for occasional track use?

I'm looking into pads for HPDE track weekends. Originally I was going to go with Carbotech XP-8 & swap them with street pads for the track weekend.

But....EBC claim their Yellow Stuff are suitable for street & track, which would be easier & cheaper. However I'm skeptical(uhm) . Does anyone have experience with EBC Yellow Stuff?

(I did search the forum, but came up blank)

Thx

EBC yellow not sutable for track if you ride it hard at the limit.
Used EBC yellow at the track last year, and I went through 2 sets of front pads in 4 lapping days. So, one set for 2 days.
When I removed them from the car, the pas material just felt on the ground in pieces.
They can't withstand the serious heat.

For this year, I am running Hawk DTC-60. Four track days later, they are still in great condition. Obvioulsy, I don't use them on the street. I swap my discs and pads before each track day.

That kind of confirms what I've read elsewhere - they may work depending on application (car weight, track, driving style etc).

I'll go with separate track pads.

Thx

You'd be bertter off with Hawk HP+'s or going with other HAWK applications depending on what you are looking to accomplish on track. Carbotech is a great option, so are Cobalt Friction XR Series.

What kind of experience do you have? Are you just starting out with HPDE's?

If so, I think a pad like the HP+ will serve you well and you can avoid swapping between pads for the street.
