Dynotronics ECU product suggestion

I am assuming that most people who are taking advantage of the Dynotronics ECU tune are going to take advantage of the 7200 redline option.

Would it be possible to include a small vinyl decal that could be carefully applied onto a part of the tachometer within the factory cluster? I was thinking that it should be yellow or orange and begin just before the factory redline (at 6000 or 6100 rpm) and last until the "tuned" redline at 7200 rpm. Essentially, the yellow decal would mask the factory redline by covering the "red" part of the gauge cluster with "yellow" so that you could clearly see the new redline without the expense of a full overlay. It would be nice if it were included as part of the ECU package.

Thoughts?

Die-cut vinyl is crazy expensive, especially for the low quantity (1-2 sheets) that would be required. Not to mention that the yellow would still show red-orange with the lights on, and there is no changing that. In fact it would probably look even worse since the light would be so much darker coming through the vinyl overlay. If it bothers you that much I say get creative with some masking tape and a paint pen, or get a fully custom overlay.

I shot an email out to the guys who do vinyl work for my company and they said that between the design and setup it would be about $250, and each sheet would cost $5 until we hit the price break of 100 sheets at which it would drop to $3.50/sheet until 1000, which would be $2.80/sheet.

I think once you get it in there you will find the sound of when you are near the redline which works great over a shift light. In our B-Spec car it easy shift at the new redline.
