I've modded my past 3 nissans (Altima, Maxima, and Sentra SE-R) and one of the first things I did was add a dynomax super turbo muffler on it. Granted, it's more for the deep rumble than any performance gain, I'm under no illusion that it's all this or that. Truth be told, from what I've read, until I do the downpipe and/or midpipe, don't expect much gain from any catback. But I do it for the sound - even with headers on all my vehicles, it kept the sound controlled and un-ricey, with zero highway drone.
Now with this car, that last muffler (resonator) at the end is so short, the standard dynomax I would get would be too long. I removed it already, and the sound is louder, but I want a bit more, but I want it controlled for those green light accelerations next to the Po Po. I'd remove all the resonators, but that will be too loud, from what I can tell from the youtube clips. Is it possible to actually put a dynomax midstream, say, replacing resonator number two? Would that give my nice deep note I'm used to, without drone? So, essentially, I'm talking about eliminating the first or second resonator, replacing the other resonator with a dynomax, and then just piping?
