Can anyone tell me if the door lock/unlock switches on the doors are supposed to be backlit? I have a 2014 GT and they are not backlit but look like they should be and I've seen pictures on the web where at least the driver side door is. Thanks!

I think everyone agrees: they should be. Alas, they are not. Maybe Mazda figured they'd leave a few things out to give people a reason to trade in come new model time.

There is a thread about modifying the door switch assembly somewhere here on the forum if you're mechanically inclined, bandicoot. Can I call you Crash?

You need SMD soldering skills too, if you go with the factory type of LEDs. Somebody soldered regular LEDs. I have installed an LED from Digikey, but it's not bright enough and the color is off too. It needs to be more orange in color then what I have. See that thread for more info.

Thanks for the help and answers everyone! First post and it was nice to see how friendly and helpful everyone is! I searched for existing threads before posting but I think searching switch instead of button is why I couldn't find it. I think I have too much on the go for this project right now but at least now I know not to bother asking the warranty dept at the dealer about it! And yes, Skorpio, Crash works too!
