Does the custom enclosure work as rear strut bar?

I am thinking of putting a new custom enclosure does the rear custom enclosure work as a rear strut? If so is the rear strut actually attached to the custom enclosure?

If you mean the plastic sub box then no, it is in no way load baring or structural.

I did read in the initial mazda press that the rear deck was reinforced to add structual stabilility to the chassis. The plastic sub box itself doesn't matter, but the crossbeam it attaches too is a strengthening piece. Or so I read last summer before the cars were even out.

I've read that a few times, too. I haven't taken my box down to look, though.
