do pro kits settle any?

I just installed my pro kit on my Mazda speed, and I can really not tell any different.... I know that it is already lowered .75 and .875 front and back, but with the pro kit, it should be an additional inch'ish all around.... so Im just wandering if they need to settle or what? I drove it home from my friends house (about 20 miles).. but it didnt really drop anymore...

please explain..

sometimes it takes a few days if im not mistaken. its gonna take longer than 20 miles almost surely. remember the pro kit is more performance oriented. if you wanted a more radical drop the teins or the spools wouldve been a better choice.

well yeah, I didnt really want a DROP!!!!!! just a little bit lower, but I didnt want to sacrifice handling.... however, I can tell the eibachs are softer than the stock racing beats... but I guess that will be ok, if they settle in a little bit..

you wont sacrafice handling by dropping your car. so if you wanted to, and werent satisfied with the drop, you could sell your eibachs on this forum and get teins.

well, thats just it, I didnt want to really lower my car that much... I just wanted it a little lower.. but Im saying, right now, the eibachs did nothing.... thats why Im hoping they have to settle in, so it will actually lower a little...

however, the teins are only 1.5 and 1.4, while my eibachs were 1.4 and 1.8..... so yeah....

where did you get your teins matt? the only place ive really seen them is ebay

i my teins from another member on the board back in the day when i had about 30 posts.

info - the teins are 1.8f 1.5r, close to the eibachs.

jeremy tell me youre coming to the damn meet next sat

Those drop numbers are for the sedan, but not the MSP set up. It will be a very subtle drop from what I can gather. You are freaking me out though because I have these same springs ready to go into my car right now and am worried it's not going to give me the subtle drop (but enough to be worth doing) I was looking for. And if they are softer than the stock ride that's not good at all. They should be slightly stiffer:(

hah, sorry, dont let me suade you into not doing it... I always WAY over react.... Im sure they will settle or whatever... and the difference in softness is hardly noticeable.... I just notice the smallest changes in my car.

however, fyi, the racing beats that are on the MSP are like, the stiffest springs avalible, other than the GC coilovers, or other adjustables..

you couldn't be any further from the truth. On a mazdaspeed that comes with STIFF springs from the factory, degrading to softer rates will decrease the handling, even if your center of gravity is lower. Look back to post that apexistud made when he put on his teins, he felt a notice difference in car stiffness and body roll. so if you use products that are below oem specs, you could infact lose handing by lowering your car.

So spud, what's your review at this point? Any progress reports? Mine go in tomorrow hopefully.

yes, the front is lower now.. a lot actually, it looks damn nice. there is only about a finger, finger and a half gap... the rear hasnt settled yet b/c there is no weight... also, they arent as soft as I thought they were, I took her for a trip down some twisties,, it still handles well

so I give them two thumbs up...

I couldn't be more happy to hear that!

I'm so relieved. PICS! I will take pics of mine shortly after install also. Thanks for the update! This good news calls for some smilies :D  :) :D :) (wiggle) (thumb) (yippy) (2thumbs) (usa) (burnout) (mj) (cheers2) (headbang) (drinks)

I can tell you when I had the Eibachs on my Focus it took several days for them to fully settle when I first installed them. In fact every time I jacked the car up and put it back down it would take a good drive for them to settle back in again.

Im hearing strange noises coming from the front of my car... it sux.. Im thinking it is sway bar related (endlinks).. I'll dive down there and check it out sometime this week.. when I am going about 10 mph and let off the gas, there is a knocking noise...
