Can someone recommend a nice difgital camera for about $300-$400. something with all the features (whatever that means...) something slim and stylish? I apologize for being a noob.

i've always liked canons. my latest is the SD600 but it's a year or two old now so they've moved on to the SD1000. $220 on amazon https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) and assuming it's basically the same as the SD600 it's a great, tiny camera. they have the SD800 for $303 that is similar as well, has image stabilization so that might be a better buy https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned)

The Sony DSC T100 is also nice.. 8 mp with HD output and 5x optical zoom.. It fits in your budget

Thanks for all the responses.
It's gonna be a surprise b-day present for my girl.
So far the Canon sd800is seems like a good choice.
