Deactivating OEM Bluetooth Before Removing OEM Radio to Install Aftermarket Radio

I've been slowly looking into and gathering things I will need, etc. to install an aftermarket HU, an amp and adapters, etc needed to retain steering wheel controls, stock rear camera, etc.

Along the way I saw mention that it is good idea to deactivate or turn off the bluetooth unit in the car before removing the stock radio and installing an aftermarket system. It mentioned that the phone or device you will pair with the new radio will also see and want to connect to the factory BT system as it is located somewhere other than in the radio. I was a long way from needing that information at the time and I thought I sent myself a link to it, but I can't find it so I must not have. I also can't find anything like this other than how to pair or unpair your phone or device(s). I'm pretty sure that wasn't what it was about, it actually turned the BT off or at least disabled it.

Anyone have any knowledge of this?
