DRLs in Canada is mandatory. You can’t turn the DRLs off via the official instruction posted here in this forum as Mazda doesn’t let you do it due to the legal issue.

Just got 2021 US one and headlights as DRL is ridiculous
Are you saying that following that crazy procedure will make DRL work with no headlights?(I don't want to be left with no DRLs at all)

No, the procedure is to turn the DRLs off or on.

Some people here with higher trims turn the DRLs off, then turn the parking lights on serving as DRLs where the front parking lights are LED accent strips (halos).
