CX-9 Spare Tire Questions

So since I run 235/60/18 tires in summer and 235/65/17 in winter I need a new dummy tire to replace the worn out one.

Would the spare tire from a Ford/Mazda 2014/15 CX-9 be the same diameter or would a spare from a Mazda only 2017/18 CX-9 be comparable?

I’m confused - did you lose a tire, and you’re looking for a long-term spare option? Both your summer and winter tires are smaller than a 2007-2015 CX-9’s tires, and the 2016-2023 CX-9’s tires are bigger still.

Long term spare. I remember reading somewhere on here that the spare tire from one of the CX9s was the same diameter as a 235/65/17, 235/60/18 tire.

The spare may indeed be the same size as a 235/65R17, but that doesn’t mean you want to run one wheel with that much of a size mismatch long-term.

Are you outside North America? I’m just wondering if your OE tires are actually smaller than what we got in those years.

I’m on Nova Scotia. When I switched from a CX7 to a CX5 I just kept the oversized tires.
I have to replace the out of date dummy tire in the CX5 with a new one.
That’s why I want to get an appropriate sized one. I also know the 2014/15 CX9 was a different size dummy tire vs the 2017 CX9 dummy tire.
That’s why I’m asking
