I find several aftermarket replacement headunits for cx-9 2012/2013, but rarely one for 2010/2011. What's the difference between those, if any. Are the measurements, mounting points different or the connections. Has anyone a pic of a 2012 headunit? thanks for advise.

Opening size is the same...I think the info button was moved to the steering wheel. Not sure if aftermarket unit will let u keep the ability to use the top display for mpg display?

thanks for confirming that the opening is the same. The prev. owner put a lowly aftermarket unit in that sounds bad despite the Bose, so the info (and clock) button are gone anyway, can't get worse. I ordered a http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1142 hope to get the setting of the mpg display back.

If the opening is the same then i consider getting a http://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-Inch-Car-GPS-Navi-For-Mazda-CX-9-2012-2013-Android-4-2-OS-Dual/2041014845.html unit. They are the only ones I found that give a decent connection schema and seam to have proper pre-amp output. Might be worth trying.

for that price, i'd just get something like https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) and wire it to your pac-audio adapter instead of going with some off-brand joint.
