custom suggestions plz...

Custom exhaust ---

i just went to my muffler shop and they said that custom 2.5" catback piping they could do for $175 (double for StainlessSteel--which ill do). i was wondering if this was a good price compared to those of you who have gotten custom exaust made.
Also he had some mufflers there (one really nice carbon fiber one). the brand is 'DNS' tho...ive never even heard of them, any info would be nice. other than that any muffler suggestions would rock (for something inbetween $2 - 300)

As long as the bends are mandrel and not crush bends go for it...with a 2.5" exhaust you really need the mandrels. With a 3" you can get away with crush bends and not lose too much volume.

oh...jw about tsudo mufflers (quality, sound) they are pretty cheap on apexr1 and just wondering if anyone here that has or knows about them would mind commenting.
I think ill prolly go 3" after thinking about it....he said it wouldnt cost much more

also if striker187 you read this id love to get a 5zigen like yours cause i love the way your car sounds.

(2thumbs). i got mine from wholesalehyperformance. current price is $224 + $25 for shipping. i'd be kinda iffy though about ordering from them.....me and one other person i know ordered from them. both of us got the wrong size muffler the first time. they sent the NA version which is 2.5". they took care of me right away and i had the right muffler within 2 weeks. the other person......it took forever. but they do have one of the cheapest prices i've found. shop around and see what you can come up with. might find it on sale somewhere .

as for tsudo mufflers, they're pretty good. couple people here have them and say they love them. my friend has one on his 200sx. it sounds surprisingly good. really deep, no buzz. no soundclips of any tsudo mufflers though as of yet. sorry .

say i got the fireball 5 zigen. i dont know about univ. mufflers do i need to get the one that matches my custom exhaust? im most likely getting a 2.5" custom....do i need to get the Turbo 3" or the n/a 2.4"?(just asking if it matters cause i know the msp is turboed ) sorry if this is a retard question (hand)

I just got a dynomax 3in cannister from jegs for 75 shipped...
2.5in mandrel bent would be a nice gain... for 8-10 psi daily boost.
You'll also see faster spool, and a more power through the midrange.

yay, go 5zigen (yippy). if you're getting 2.5", the NA version will do just fine. they're just called NA and Turbo versions cause that's what they're usually applied to. the turbo version will work though. the shop will just have to reduce the inlet diameter which is easy to do.

Sorry if this is threadjacking...Striker187, is your muffler set at an angle? And if so could I see some pics? I am considering the 5Zigen and I was wondering how cool it would look set to an angle....I searched for some pics but couldnt find any. Thanks!

The tsudo looks pretty sweet. The reason I ask about the angle is because I was seriously considering ordering the Apex catback w/ the N1 exhaust from apexr1.com but I have been having second thoughts on it lately because I really want an agressive looking angle. I doubt there is a cat back setup w/ what I am looking for so I will probably go custom.

you guy's with the mandrel you just don't get it. 2.5" "crush bent" pipe will support up to 400hp. If any of you think you are going to make more than that you're dreaming. By the way i got mine done for $80 with ss and i used a muffler from www.airdynamicracing.com very deep sound sound's good not ricey.

well, thanks for all the input, all i need now is to find a good place to buy my muffler...if anyone knows of a good shop for me to look at on the internet not listed here or apexr1.com plz let me know. ive found its kinda hard to find 'respectable' sites w/ information i can trust sending my money to.

tsudo CF !!!!!! the best sound and looks in msp imo, and you cant beat the price
and get it angled up and to the right for that JDM look .
wish i had a pic of mine here to show...

its not too loud , but loudness depends on if you have resonator and / or hi flo cat
tsudo is deep sound, none of that civic crazy lawnmore noise...

there are 4 tsudo cf exhausts to chosoe on teh apexr1 website... which one does dr Sound have? or any others? the pics on teh website look totally diff from the one on the car
