Could the NEW Mazdaspeed 6 turbo fit in the 3?

Before people jump down my throat, ask me if this is possible.

As most of you might have found out, the NEW SPANKIN Mazdaspeed 6 is coming out "...early summer 2005..."

The engine they are "turbo-ing" is the 2.3L. If I am wrong let me know, but does that mean, since the mazda 3 also has a 2.3L engine, from the 6, could be used? They said from 160bHP--> 274bHP AND 280lbs of Torque.

HOLY s***! With that in the 3, you definetly be flying! But always more HP would make anyone happier!! (upbum)

So what do you think about this possibility. IS it possible? Would it even fit in the Mazda 3 engine area?

Remind you all, I am not knowledgeable about anything mechanical nor aware of all that works. I have a friend who hooks me up.

I think it might be possible, taking this turbo 2.3L engine and fit it, cleverly, into the Mazda 3. maybe!! We'll wait till the summer for this theory to work.

And no, it is for real, 2.3L in-line 4 Intercooled, direct-injection, turbo-charged.

Sport Compact car seems to think the new engine is going to be a supercharged V-6. For one, it has a bulge on the hood making room for the top mounted SC. They also speculate the V-6 because of the dual exhaust. (but the 6i has dual exaust also) The second is drivability. A supercharger will be a more linear power increase with no lag ( it is still a "family" sedan). So I guess if the do supercharge it, it will stay consitent with the old Millenia which was a nice car (except the power.)

Well, articles ive seen say it definately is a 2.3L turbo charged car.

I think its the same engine, but there will be some other stuff like ecu and maybe a beefier engine.

Unlike other Mazda6 models, which are assembled in the US, the Mazdaspeed 6 will be built in Japan. Its 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine is turbocharged and uses direct fuel injection to make 280 horsepower and 280 pounds-feet of torque......

eh don't know if it will...ther is a 6 speed awd tranny atached to it...also the block is the 91 an up octane jdm one with difrent compression. Also facter in the pcm controlled boost. If you have th cash and Ill will you prabably could pull it off but ou have to buy the parts from jdm dealers or find a wrecked one that hasn't damaged the engine/turbine. I'd like to see an article or speculations on the supercharger...! also the dual exhaust is a y pipe just after the rear axle on both models.
