i was going to get a pair of cool blue light bulbs for my 3. i cant remember who makes them but i saw them at pepboys. i think sylvania, but no sure. anyways i think theyre halogen and i wanted to know if they would work on my 06' 3s. i know you might have to buy a HID conversion kit if they are powerful bulbs. i just want to make sure they work. theyre only $30 for a pair. anyone have these? do they suck? whats going down....?

they are just halogen bulbs with a blue paint sprayed on them to make them appear to be hids.... hids and halogen bulbs are completely different technologies... filamint vs gas... the best prices i have seen for a hid kit i think was 250 and it was here on the forums... (way more trustworthy then ebay!!)

good luck with whatever you decide man.

bulbs are good to hold you off until you can afford a HID kit, I have some cheap ebay bulbs, they are awesome!

Go for some MTEC's Super Whites off ebay. They are alot better that the Cool Blue's that will actually decrease brightness. And there are HID's out there for $200 shipped from quality sponsors.

whatever you do, dont get the cool blues, they will melt your harness for your headlights! at least thats what happened to me and a couple of my friends. If you want a pretty decent headlight, go for the sylvania silverstars, they arent gonna be as blue as you probally want, but they are a much better improvement over the stock bulbs!!!

$30 is cheap. you will get what you pay for. bulbs with a blue tint on them won't put out as much light as your stock halogens. One more thing-- you'll barely see your headlights on the road when it's raining.

I suggest saving up for an aftermarket HID conversion kit [not from ebay]. They're a lot cheaper now since a lot of owners have been purchasing them. Xtec and ProLumen seem to be very good companies. I have ProLumen 5000K.
