Continuous Beep From Dash...Even with Battery Disconnected

Last night, seeming out of the blue, a beeping noise (every 2 seconds, continuously) started happening. Sounds like its coming from the dash. Nothing will stop it. EVEN AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY, ITS STILL BEEPING! Its been going on for about 12 hours now.

(2020 CX5)

Grateful for any ideas. Thank you

Did someone (dealer; previous owner) install a tracking device in your car (leased cars often have these)?

I can't even imagine what could be beeping with the battery disconnected.

Can you stick your head under the dash and get a better idea where the beep is originating?

Did you lose some electronic/battery powered device in the past that might be hiding under a seat in the car or in the glovebox?

Good afternoon, thanks for all the replies. I have good news. The beeping stopped while I was driving home this afternoon. I am pretty sure that there is some connection between the beeping and CarPlay interactions with my iPhone. Last night when the beeping started, I had been using google maps with phone plugged visually and audibly communicating via CarPlay. When I arrived at my destination last night, I unplugged the iPhone and the beeping started. Or did I shut down the app and then unplug it? Who knows exactly what combination of things I did that kicked it off.

Anyway, this afternoon, I was driving home from somewhere and once again using google maps via CarPlay. I got partway home, realized I did not need navigation any longer, turned off google maps while the phone was still plugged in. Then, miraculously, it stopped.

I would love to how all this happened so that I can avoid it in the future!

I thought that it was beeping non-stop even with the battery disconnected. What became of this?

It was beeping non stop, even with the battery disconnected. You are correct (obviously I reconnected the battery so that I could continue using the car, beeping or not). From Friday evening around 5:30 eastern time until around 1 pm eastern time Saturday afternoon, it was beeping continuously. It started apparently due to some interaction between my iPhone and CarPlay 5:30 Friday evening and stopped due to some some interaction between iPhone and CarPlay 1 pm Saturday.

Still entertaining theories. Thank you’

Hi - any more updates to this? Just had this start happening in my Mazda 3, and this thread has been the only other thing I've found about it so far.

Did start while I was out running errands. And maybe not coincidentally also just noticed the vent tab is disconnected from the little rod
