Cobb AP's universal?

If I were to buy a Cobb AP off of ebay for an STI or anything similiar. If it's unmarried from the car, can it still be used on my car? Or are they vehicle specific? Thanks!

You can only buy one for the MS3/MS6. I think the part # is AP-MAZ-002. Others won't work.
