Clunk in Austin

2003 Black Mica MSP
Have any Austin area MP3 or MSP owners had their rear bushings replaced with the new "E" series? My 2003 MSP is starting to develop rear-end clunk after about 2k miles. I bought the car at Premier in Georgetown and was very impressed with the quality of service when I had my ECU flash done. I just hate the long drive

no clunk here

i heard and hear it when i go over a speedbump thought, but i try to stay away from them

otherwise no clunck here

mazda south is where i bought mine
they are ok, but what do we expect from a dealership?

i am waiting for a good retail shop in Austin! Any up north?

I'm thinking my clunk is probably nothing compared to what they're getting up north and on older cars, but it still concerns me considering that there is precedent, and that it seems to be getting worse...let's hope the brakes don't start shuddering, sub doesn't blow, etc., too...

I shopped around all three area dealers, and just went where I felt most comfortable. It didn't hurt that Premier had one with a tint package already included.

As far as retail, even if there is a good shop up here in North Austin, I'm not sure if I'd be much help. I've never done any modding before, and probably don't plan on it with my MSP. I know that's blasphemy on this board, but what can I say, I'm a poor student and I need the car to be running most of the time, hehe. I know of another MSP owner who has a CAI installed and was looking for a place to get her turbo timer installed - I think it was this place:

Austin Performance & Specialty Equipment
10716 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78753
(512) 832-5566

aus shops

ha, i laugh at them

i trust two, well three people with my cars...
one-Tyrone (Austin Car God)
two-Sean (San Antonio Car God)
Me-hahaha

I too am poor and try to justify the mods with that warranty Mazda gave with the car...so we'll see?

if you ever wanna go cruzing, let me know
i'm central, mins away from UT
(mspb)

Someone sent me a message from Waco about aftermarket parts available for the MSP - I'll see if I can track down his username.

I used Japanese Auto Tech for my old Protege for years. It's been a while since I've been there. They were expensive but they always just fixed what was wrong and they never broke anything else.
They are in North Austin near IBM and JJ Pickle UT.

I am in Dallas but I can ship you the parts you need. let me know. my sites under slow reconstruction but it has the list of most the major brand name aftermarket for the msp and protege. most the time I offer the most competitive pricing around with no hidden or outrageous shipping or handling fees. not to mention i am an authorized dealer and all the manufacturer part warranties are legit when you buy from me.
