Check engine light and cracked catalytic converter

So today I went to get the plates on my car renewed and needed a safety and emissions inspection done. Well I found out the check engine light was on and it wasn't on when I got to the dealership and my Cat has a small crack.

I need to know what to do about the check engine light, I have had the car for a year and a half and it has never come on. Also need some suggestions for the cracked cat.

What is the code that the check engine light is throwing? That would be the first thing to find out..

how many miles on your car? it may get covered under the emissions warranty
there was a TSB covering this problem

It threw two codes, and the car has 98k on it.

P0171 System to lean (bank 1)
P0480 Cooling fan 1 control circuit malfunction
