Hey, yesturday morning on the way to work I got a CEL P2087. I researched that and it showed that it was running lean at idle. So I asked a Mazda tech at my work about it and he said it would wither be a leak in the vacume lines or an 02 sensor. I went ahead and cleared the code after work and reflashed my accesport go see if that would help anything out. It didn't throw any codes until this morning when I was sitting at a stop light. I thought it would just be the P2087 code but it was also a P0401. I looked into that one and it showed that it was insufecient exhaust gas flow and some people were saying that they were having problems with their EGR valve.

I'm at a standstill right now. I don't know whether I should clear the codes and just wait or if I should go ahead and see if I can try fixing something. I was thinking about taking the intake and T.I.P off and unistalling the accessport to see if that fixed anything. But again, I don't know what I should do. I still have my warranty but I am worried that they might void it once I take it in. I would hope that they would tell me no before they just joid it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I get a random 401 once or twice a month. When I first started getting the 401, I checked the EGR valve and tube and both were in good working order. The 401 appears to be an ECM sensitivity issue. I recently checked with my Mazda dealership to see if there was an update for the 401 on the 2.3 turbo and there isn't one yet. There are also aware of this issue. They did release an updated ECM firmware for the std 2.3 for this issue though.

As for your lean condition, I would check for vacuum leaks.
