Car's been in storage for a year, now won't idle by itself.

Hey all,

I've had my 2006 Mazda6 i4 manual stored for a year and just jump started it off another car. The motor turns slowly at first but it does start and idles normally. However when I disconnect the jumper cables, the engine stalls. Anyone know what might be going on?

Got a new battery and it works now. Didn't know that a car can't really stay running without a good battery!

Good to hear if that dident work I would try the alternator, then starter. If over time it contiunes to have difficulty starting you may need a starter.
