Carbon Fiber Hood for Mazda MP3.

Hello everyone, my name is Andy with BodyKits NW. I have had quite a few e-mails from MP3 owners about making a CF hood for it. I thought I would let everyone know that the mold is almost done. Production should start in the next 2 weeks and they will include a 1 year limited warranty. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail us at info@bodykitsnw.com. I rarely get a chance to post on the boards, but please e-mail us.

They are hand laid
Use a 6k weave 2x2 twill
UV Protected Gel Coat.

Our website can answer a lot of your questions. www.bodykitsnw.com. Pricing will start at about 675.00.

This is a pic of how it will turn out.

Tripoint allready made a carbon fiber hood and its only $475. I think you guys are out of luck. :) Thats what happens when you think too long about making parts or not, somebody else gets in front. Instead how about making some front lip spoilers similar to the AutoExe one?

If that's shiped then they are the same price :D if not then bummer :( , what springa are on that car are they cround control coilovers ?

they're not really out of luck...all they have to do is lower the price...=p

oh yeah...the image is photoshopped...it has adobe ps lowering springs...=p

Carbon Fiber looks a hell of a lot better in my opinion. It'll also stop those damn road chips that we get on our hoods. I'm definately planning on getting one, hopefully by summer. They also have a hell of a lot better strentgh than the factoory hood of course. Take a look in my clubphoto page and see what happened to my friend Subywan's WRX Wagon after a RSX hit him at about 30 mph. The hood is still perfect condition, minus the hood latch though. :D

Hey all, I wanted to let everyone know that I've had previous experiance with BodyKits NW and their carbon fiber hoods from www.ClubSi.com and they are the most beautiful hoods I've ever seen in my life. The attention to detail is awesome on these hoods. They may be a bit more in price but it's worth every penny. When you see one of their hoods next to a cheap taiwanese made one you'll immediatly see the difference. Two main things I've noticed is that their gelcoats are much clearer and do not have the cloudy yellow look that some hoods may have and the underside of the BodyKits NW hoods look very clean and neat, not ugly as hell like most other hoods are. I don't really know how to explain it, check out their website and you can see for yourself. www.BodyKitsNW.com And no, I don't work for them or have anything to gain by sales of their hoods, I just wanted to share my experiances with everyone. The quality of the hoods are amazing.

I think the problem is that even a more difficult hood to manufacture (WRX, w/scoop) its $50 cheaper than the Mazda.

Yeah, has anyone ever seen a cheap CF hood in person? Not a pretty site. Cheap hoods look like s***. I would be willing to pay a little more for a great hood. Would love to see Tripoint and this one side by side.

I wonder how the hood is gonna look too. Spoon Sports & Benen use a different weave than DG Motorsports uses. Some weaves look better than others. I would love to put a Carbon Kevler hood on my Yellow MP3. :D

I'd buy a CF hood too. Quality is an issue though, I'd say they need some high rez digital pictures of the finished product before I'd ever get it.

I'll sport a CF Hood, but I agree I'd have to see some good pics of one or see it in person
