Car Protection Alternative

So most people get Bra's for their cars to protect the front from all sorts of damage that can come from driving. But we all know the problems with bras: have to take them off in the rain, can cause uneven fading of paint, always black leather, etc.

Well I went to the International Car Show at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC and in their parts and accessory area, I was searching for someone who would have information about the 3M scotchguard system that was mentioned in a few other threads. Lo and behold, there was such a company.

So here's their website:
www.xpel.com

If you click on shop you can search by year, make, model, series all the way back to 1950s cars. When you find the car you want, it will show you a list of the available guard areas, what they look like, how much they cost and what the difficulty level of install is. There is also an option to find a professionally trained installer in your area.

Here is the information on the 3M scotchguard itself:

For the mazda 3s 5 door, the product is about 300 dollars, depending on which kit you get. All in all, it's about the same price as a bra, but IMHO, it looks better because it's clear.

I have the contact info for the vice-president of sales for X-Pel Automotive Survival Products. If anyone wants more information than what is on the site, PM or ask here and I'll send you the contact stuff.

Also, maybe if someone's better at setting up group-buys than me (cause I've never done one), we might be able to make a deal with the company for bulk kits. Any takers?

as am I.. I'm going to get the teflon coating mazda offers to get their warrenty against weather damage for the entire car, and then I'm going to do the 3m scotchlite on the front.

good call to make sure that mazda has it covered under warranty...and then double protect it....
