Hey guys I'm having a problem with my speed6 and I kinda hope its not what I think it is. Car is a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 GT with 56k on it.Problem is that when accelerating in a high gear eg. 4th, 5th, 6th. and at around 2200 RPM, when I start to give it gas and boost builds to about 12PSI the car jerks violently as if I very quickly slammed on the breaks and then hit the gas. It cant be the clutch, but is it the engine, turbo, or transmission? Thanks guys.

Likely not anything wrong, you just need to downshift from that 2200 rpm ... this engine doesn't like to be lugged.

hmm ok, yea I was under the impression that accelerating wouldnt really be a problem... this engine still gets moving around there... just takes longer

My car doesnt do that. But you shouldnt boost that high in that low of an rpm. I know when I first got my car I teed off my boost gauge to the wrong vacuum hose(dont ask) I had it going to one of them on the back side of the engine. When my car would go into boost it would literally slam back and forth. Come to find out that tube was leaking.

sounds like the shudder many of us have experienced. mine does it around 2600 rpms. there is a TSB out there, its the fuel pump.

It seems to lot like jumping on the gas at low RPMs, which is the same with mine. I can ease into the throttle from under 2000, but not really mash my foot down, in that case you're better off with a downshift.

+1 on the fuel pump. that would be my guess

As everyone else has stated its not good to boost at a low rpm especially in a high gear. Regardless that shouldn't be happening. Do you have mods??

I recommend you don't put the car in the position you describe. The very high load at low rpm scenario builds tremendous cylinder pressures and IMO is what kills the rods in this car... The jerking is the car trying to save itself from you.

ok thanks guys... yea I have mods. CAI, Catback, engine mount, Short Shifter, and Full control flash. I might be getting rid of them soon however to help pay for school

Some people just want the car to be driveable in ANY conditions and I can understand that but this car kinda forces you to adapt to it instead of the other way around.

got CP-E's fuel cut flash today and it completely fixed the problem... kudos to those guys, saved me a bunch of hassle with the dealer.
