Can stock anti-roll bar tabs be reinforced?

I ask once before and got no response. I've done a seach on this forum and one other and came up with nothing. Can the rear anti-roll bar tabs on the stock rear struts be reinforced? I was thinking a welding shop would be able to do something but I don't know if the heat from welding on the stock sturt would weaken/destoy it. Has anyone attempted this and if so how was the outcome? I would like to install a larger rear roll bar but I would like to first strenghten the tab without the expense of new struts.

your talking about the tab on the Struts right?
I dont see why it couldnt be strengthened
but nobody has really had a problem with breaking them, so I dont think you have to worry

if it aint broke dont fix it

ogsk8er snapped his. though it seems to be a kind of freak accident, but still indicated a cause of cerncern over them.

this applies only to getting a thicker sway bar though.

it is possible to reinforce the tab but if you can find someone who wants to weld a strut, let me know, id like to watch, from a safe distance that is. your talking about alot of presure and heat. put the two together and a little bad luck and BOOM! good luck

I don't know if it would work. I thought about it as well but then I thought about how everything in the strut may get screwed up because of the high temps
