Can someone tell me why??

I have 2 Black speeds on my lot and I can't get rid of them!!! It's not like I'm selling them above Msrp...Its annoying.

first off, i don't think that many people know about the mazdaspeed protege. the only thing that i've seen advertised has been the mazda6. i've already heard a radio station promote the srt-4. also, with the war going on i don't think people are thinking of buying cars.

advertising is MAzda's biggest problem.

Look at the MP3.....there are still dealers that don't know what it is!!!!

I'm serious

Yet alone the average joe.

AND, Mazda missed the boat with the Speeds. It's late, way too late getting here, people gave up, got other cars, spec's. wrx's, srt4's etc etc. Only die hard Mazda nuts were patient enough to wait.

It's also getting up there in price compared to cars like the spec v, and the average joe doesn't get as to why it is much more, all they see is, 170 hp, 17" wheels which the spec v has with a smaller price tag. Again, advertising would inform them of this.

I agree but all the people that would be interested in a car like this should know about it from reading super street and sport compact car. I think the speed is the best car for the money and suprised I still have the 2...I'm just worried that I'll get stuck with the yellow one when it comes out.

That's what's happening everywhere. The other cars that are comming out are getting all the attention now. Looks like all of the dealers will be auctioning MSP's soon.(rofl)

isn't Mazda relaunching the 6 in june or something? maybe is that goes over well they'll take a hint, pull the buttplug out and hit us hard with advertisements on radio, tv,blimps, billboards and whatever other form of media they can get into. hell, if you watch i forgot what part of the Spiderman DVD in some of the extra stuff on disc 2 you catch a glimpse of a big gay baby blue RX-8. didn't see that in the movie but oh well. if at first you don't succeed...............

Ads are a big problem with Mazda least what I've seen. Think I have only seen 1 P5, perhaps 1 MazdaSpeed but only recently.

I never heard of the P5 till I was at the dealer when my dad got his Miata. Then heard about the MazdaSpeed once I started looking into the P5.

But if I hadn't walked to the dealer I would have never known about the P5/Speed/MP3 series.

:(

they claimed two options on it. tint and a sound system. No details of the system was mentioned. why the hell would they change the system? I laughed at the sales guy when he told me the price. But he was like, "This is a limited car man! You're not going to find a better price!" I continued to laugh my ass off as I walked away from him saying "whatever dude!"...

If I could get some f***king credit somewhere, I'd snatch it.. I wanted spicy orange but I'd "settle" for a black. :D

I hate being 21 with bad credit from 2-3 years ago and no cosigner.. BAH!

DJSCIASCIA : I'll trade u even my 2001 LX 1.8Liter and I'll let u pay it off!
Wish I could get a msprotege I'm 17 and can't afford it yet maybe this summer when I get full-time!!!

John: You can sell the Mazdaspeed. Put "TURBO" and "DISCOUNTED" on the windshield and wait for a sunny weekend. Get the Sport Compact Car article from last fall where they talk about the Mazdaspeed knocking the Acura Integra Type R off the top of the mountain; make LOTS of copies of this article. Train a key salesman to really read up on the car so he can keep up with a sharp customer and really inform him about the car. Discount the first one to that key customer who's going to go out and sell his buddies on the car. (Try to find someone in the SCCA who autocrosses in your area. Maybe take one to an autox and offer free rides? This car is one H*LL of an autocross car!)

Once you have sold the first one to a real enthusiast, word of mouth will spread and you'll be able to sell the others at MSRP.

It's going to be harder because Mazda corporate has moved on to the 6 and the RX-8. But it can be done. You just have to tap into the enthusiast community. This board is a good start. Nice to see you here.
