can i use 100 octane racing fule on stock ecu msp

no, but based on how bad the MSP timing and fuel tables are, you wont see much gain. youd definitely get gains if you had something that could advance timing

they have 110 and 103 on the berlin turnpike in CT. dont know where youre located...
(edit: 10 and 17 a gallon last i was there)

No, it won't harm the motor, you'll love how it drives after you put some quality fuel in, even if you are bone stock.

Google the BTU content of pump gas, especially Cali 91 piss, then VP100 or higher unleaded. Different fuels have different BTU. Run race gas on stock ecu, just drain it down and reset your ecu before you take off.

yeah it was vp100. i found it in fresno,ca.... i would do it but it like $7.89 for a gallon and that like still one hour away from bakersfield. i might just try it for fun. may 3 gallons will do. im in fresno right now so i might just check it out when i head to san diego.

so if i try the vp100 i have to reset my ecu?????(gossip)

race gas doesn't do ne thing unless you are tuned for it...the only thing that it would do is cool down your combustion temps and reduce the chances of knock

dang let see if it will help out when i get the ssafc. would that be safe on the stock pistions

back when i had a msp i never really messed with the splitsecond....my guess is that you would be able to tune for it...but i will someone else with more experience be able to tell you the correct info

SSAFC is fine on the stock pistons, as is race gas. the primary benefit to high-octane fuel is it lets you advance your timing without detonation, something that the SSAFC does not support... only unichip (which has its own drawbacks), standalone, and theoretically megasquirt do.

You don't want your ECU/ to have any possible history of knock sensor readings that pulled back timing, that's why you should reset it. Stick to unleaded race gas if you don't plan on doing any tuning. You can also bump the boost up a little 1-2 psi as long your AFR stays in a safe range.

To those who said race gas doesn't do s***, do the research into the energy content of various race gasoline vs pump gasoline. Race gas is more than a higher octane # for knock suppression.

SSAFC isn't going to help you for s*** for extracting the most out of race gas because it cannot advance timing. Should have gotten something that can do more than pull fuel.

I'll jump in here quick - I've heard rumors that racing fuel is still not required to be unleaded (this may be false), but if it does contain lead, it's gonna ruin your cats real quick.
