is there a differnece between the brands of CAI, besides the prices. I am looking to install one in my 03 P5 and I see ebay sells them for about 40 bucks.

you should really search this one, as it's been discussed probably more than anything else on this board. anyway, there are very few differences beyond aesthetics...some will argue that brands such as K&N, AEM, Injen have spent so much $ on r&d that they perform better; others will say that's bs. I have the ebay CAI, as do many others, and am fine with it personally. Save your money, IMHO, and buy it. There's no reason to spend upwards of $150-200 for a very, very small power "increase".

again, though, search "ebay cai" and read up so you can make an informed decision. oh yeah, welcome to the forums.

i'd say that the only difference is that some are smog legal and some aren't. if you're not worried about smog, get the ebay ones for a lot cheaper than the brand name cai's.

Pops always said, "You get what you pay for." In my 45 short years here, I've pretty much found that to be true. Guessing alot of you feel the smae, considering you're driving Mazda P5's and not the Kia wannabe...
