CAI loss in power?

:
2003.5 Titanium Gray MSP
So ive recently installed a Corksport CAI, about 2 months ago. Im fairly confident that my car has actually LOST power. Has anyone else experienced that, or have any idea why/how to fix that?

More details. Got a boost gauge? What mods do you have?

Is the air filter a oiled-type? Or dryflow? Maybe it was over oiled and your MAF sensor got dirty

Ya i doubt u lost power lol anything is possible with an msp though. Could be that somthing broke or was wearing out just as u put the cai in are u sure the maf is faceing the right way?

No boost gauge, everything else is stock. I think the filter is oiled, and the MAF is facing thr right way. No check engine lights, or anything.

Does it do this all of the time or only sometimes under boost? Does it feel like it falls on its face?

Does the power come back on around 4200rpms? Could just be running extra rich/lean until the PCM adjusts the long term trims.

A CAI install isn't too bad to just swap the stock box back and see if it feels better, but ...

The first thing everyone should buy for their MSP (or any car) is an OBDII bluetooth scanner and software for their phone or pc to read it. 99% of the problems in this forum could be diagnosed with that simple tool. I believe you can get them for around $20 now and decent phone software is $5.
