Bucking On Hwy

Maybe you are right. It has only been happening recently when the weather hit -15 C. It's back up to +5 now tho and last night it was +5 as well, with no bucking. I'll just take it easy for the winter (which there isn't much of one)

Get this, We have zero snow here at the end of January and it's actually warm out. (boom01) Thank you global warming

-15C doesnt really all that cold for the car. If it goes down to -30c then you may start to worry. I doubt it is a fuel cut because of ECU air/fuel mixture calculation errors.

Not to nitpick but Drive-by-wire actually means your throttle is controlled by electronics and actuators, not the conventional metal cable.

Maybe your cable is catching under the cold weather? When it freezes the lubricant doesnt work as well, and you may not be able to do fine movement of the pedal.

I know that the throttle plate is controlled by electronics, hence the Throttle body ground. But it's not when i was doing fine movement of the peddle, it was going WOT on an on ramp to get on the hwy

I was on my way home on the highway today from work and decided to do a little spirited pull. So, I dropped her into 4th and just pressed the gas and it was as if the fuel and air just cut off. Almost like the feeling you feel when the car stalls while moving. But it never stalled or anything.

I put it immediately back into 5th and kept cruising at 100km/h but every now and again when i let off the gas it felt like the car was hiccuping. It was the same when i pressed the gas again.

There was no CEL illuminating, no other lights, this is the 2nd time this happened. After about 5 mins it stopped cause i gotoff the hwy and it never hesitated after.

Has anyone else had this problem?? And found out what it was.

Thanks

CAI - I dont care WHAT brand is NOTORIOUS for sucking water in when its wet , think about it the damn tube goes down to the road to get the coolest air it can , but guess what else is down there --water spray -- I agree with the other chap --86 that CAI --- I can almost guarantee you thats it - unless you got some bad petrol ---CAI is desiigned fro racing and not in the rain -simple

I would get a OBDII scanner in there and see what the fuel trims are doing when the problem occurs. It might not be enough to trigger a light but it could point to the problem.

The problem is obvious --trying to add aftermarket toys on to an engine thats been tuned to run perfectly and smoothly while delivering maximum power for minimum gas intake ---I always tell these guys that buy Maz from me to LEAVE IT ALONE AND DRIVE IT if you want more power buy a bigger engine like a MS3 and leave that alone too! If you want to constantly be tweaking and tuning and chasing this rattle and that bogg or this smoke and that pop ---then go right ahead --Ill be working or on vacation ...or taking a road trip in my STOCK 2010M3 2.5 which drives like a mag-lev train .

aww dude, it wasn't my CAI. It was the cold weather. It hasn't did it since it has warmed up. It was the -15 to -20 degree celcius weather that was too cold.
