BSM Sensor Failure

The BSM light on my dashboard begins flashing, and cannot be turned off.

I live in Austin TX, so it is hot down here already.

In any event, when the day progresses, or the car has been driven for a while, the BSM light begins to flash. It cannot be turned off by pressing the button near my left knee. It is reset when I stop the car, turn it off, and then restart. However, after a short period, it begins to flash again.

I have found the sensors behind the rear bumper, and have washed them off with a damp cloth. Not yet sure of impact.

Is there a simple sensor module in the engine that can be replaced, or is this a Mazda dealer fix? If so, how much and how long will it take?

Also, what is involved in the replacement/repair process?

First I have heard on this forum about BSM problem.
It could be one of the radars in the rear bumpers.
I am sure, yours is out of warranty now (like mine).
First, making sure.
1) Do you have NAVI system?
If yes, find a thread I posted about how to get into MAVI test mode. You can find the error code
registered in the system. (most likely if something is flashing, there is an error code)
If no, see (2)

2) If no NAVI system, go to Autozone and ask nicely for error code scanning. Usually they can
do it for free with their device.

Once you find the code, google it by "Mazda 12345". (assuming 12345 is the code)
Once you are sure, try to buy the part online and DIY.

Or, just go to a dealer.

The BSM light on my 2008 is constabtly blinking as well. The RH mirror BSM light is also constantly flickering. I got into the NAVI test mode, but it didn't show any trouble codes. Is there a control box for the BSM system in addition to the right & left sensor modules?
