OK, so I changed my brakes about 3 weeks ago, all of a sudden after I went for a drive into town, I smell a bad brake burning smell...thinking it's the tow truck in front of me I sort of shrug it off...until I get to a red light and see smoke coming from the right front wheel of my car...uh oh, heart stops for a second...what the hell is goin on guys??? I'll have to take the wheel off at work tomorrow, what should I be looking for? I know I did the brakes right!

Well going by if you did your brakes right, i'd start by taking off your cali's and inspecting your pads.

Couple of questions..
1. Did you reapply the grease to the bolts when removing them?
2. Did you replace you rotors?
3. Are you sure they arn't warp?

Sounds like when you applied your breaks they did not release which would cause them to heat up and smoke... anyone else have another option for him?

did you replace the rotors with new ones? if you don't clean off the cutting oil it will smoke.

mine had the same symptoms from a frozen caliper. Make sure the caliper slides freely on the pins.

OK, so I tool it apart today, the caliper isn't seized, but there is a tear in the boot! doesn't make sense to me my it smoked? It wasn't sticking...
