Hey guys, my brakes are starting to squeal like little piggies and it's obviously not a good sign. I want to know where I can get it inspected (I want to get only the F or R pads, on a budget, if I have to well then both) but yeah. People are telling me not to go with midas or firestone, where else can I go? I can't do it myself becuase idk how.

On a side note, should I get ceramic or semi metallic? I honestly want longevity of the pads and for my rotors to last longer, so which one.

I realize these questions might seem easy or dumb, but I know almost nothing about mechanics of cars ie brake system, engine, suspension etc.
So if you guys can help a fellow Mazda owner out please do, and don't be afraid to put some detail in your responses. Thanks for your time.

Semi metallic pads are hard on rotors, I wouldn't recommend them. I'm not sure stock rotors are designed for ceramic pads. I would use good quality
non-metallic pads.

Most likely when they inspect the front brake pads they will need replacing. It would be rare for the rear brake pads to wear out first on a 2010 Mazda3. I've a 2011 Mazda3 S 2.5L and the fronts are wearing and the rears are not nearly worn. Your local Angie's list will point to a good Mechanic or check Yelp in the local area. Other wise see if the Mazda Dealership has a free inspection coupon for Service in your area. Many will also honor a competing Mazda dealership coupon.

What is your currenct milage?
