Boost questions

This is my first turbo car and i understand the basics i just have some questions. All i have installed is a HKS BOV and a COBB intake and the car is a blast right now but i am always looking for more. I am intrigued about boost controllers. Would this be a safe next mod? How do they work and how much boost is stock car running? So what is a reasonably safe ammount of boost that you can run without fuel upgrades? I am going to do some TRK plugs, which ones do you guys prefer? I am new to the 4 cylinder cars, used to V8's but i love to learn so anything else that might seem pertinent is always appreciated. ---08BLK
 
What a TRK plugs?
Do you have a wideband that way you can see what raising the boost does to the air to fuel ratio?
If you dont, a boost controller wouldnt really be a safe mod.
 
Spark plugs, i am pretty sure that those are them. NGK TR6's are what i used in my GTO. No i do not have a wide band, i am familar with them but which one should i buy i don't want some piect o' junk either, should i go ahead and get an A-Pillar pod or dash mount pod for A/F, Boost and something else?

To be honest, I really like the Dashhawk, it will show boost, a/f, and a lot of other stuff. It's made by MSD.
Most people use Denso ITV22's or something liek that for upgrading spark plugs.It's one step colder from stock. I could be wrong with the exact model number, I'm a little dislexic.

Have you thought about the Cobb Accessport? It boost's the power a little higher than just the intake, EMS is your friend :)
 
Get a wb moniter.... and then play with boost, but remember just because you are good to go in the air/fuel ratio dept. doesn't mean you are free from Detonation . and obviously since the pistons aren't forged, a little too much boost and not listening for the "ping" could cost you more than your willing to spend.

it would be better to upgrade the turbo and run LOWER boost pressure and increase the AIR FLOW, since airflow makes power.
