Black ETS TMIC?

I was hoping someone had an installed pic. When I talked to ETS they said they sold a few of them.

Isn't this something any person can do with some high temp ceramic paint, sandpaper and a little time?

I'm actually contemplating painting at least the shroud of the ETS I'm getting black...

I was thinking the same thing, buying a TMIC and then polishing/painting just the shroud.

How would this not reduce the efficiency of the intercooler? The intercooler works by extracting heat from the charge air and dissipating it by allowing fresh, cold air to flow through the fins. Seems to me that you're just begging for your expensive upgraded intercooler to heat soak by making that transfer and cooling more difficult.

powdercoating has no effect with heat

They have special black ceramic coatings that will actually increase the efficiency of the IC.

ETS told me that the powdercoated unit has the same performance. They also offer the the TMIC Anodized

I agree... it doesn't make sense how it would not affect it at all.
