Battlefield 2

That's to bad. But yes, I'll probably pick up a second copy tonight on the way home. It is a great game. But just to clarify, when playing on an online server, does the server fill out the map with bots to get to the 32 or 64 players, if there aren't enough humans at the moment? And then as a human joins it kills off a bot? Just wondering, haven't done any online gaming before. We are renting at the moment at a place with crappy phone line so dialup is max of 37K so I wouldn't even bother trying online right now. Is Battlefield2 free online or is there a monthly subscription?

Sadly to say that they have eliminated the use of bots when you do the multiplayer LAN game. But Fry's Electronics has it for 35 dollars and I'd have to say it's well worth the money!

BTW, here's me: http://www.bf2s.com/player/Flong/

I play a sick medic...

There are no bots online, only offline in single player mode. They're really dumb so don't bother with single player. There's no monthly fee of course.

That's called smart buisness. I know a few people that work for them, they ARE money vampires, but you can't tell me that's not smart.

If they are real smart, they would still make money while giving others the access to host rank server. But because that's probably the only way for them to make money, that's why they're not giving out the access to host ranking server. Perfect example is like Apple ipod, there are tons and millions of mp3 players out there, other companies can easily make duplicate (HP) mp3s like ipod, yet Apple is still making revenues because they can, something within ipod that attracts people.

Anyway, I don't want to turn this thread into a debate thread. I'll just keep my opinion to myself. Again, like I've said before, the game itself is fun and I have nothing against it.

Back to the topic..
Matthew, I got couple of west coast ranked server IP with very good ping (10-20ish). Let me know if you are interested.. :D
