You are not entirely correct.

EA bought or bought a majority ownership of DICE in Sweden, the developers of BF 1942 and BF Vietnam.

After the Desert Combat Mod came out, DICE hired and integrated the Desert Combat developers into their studio.

So in turn, alot of BF2 is insider influenced by Desert Combat. ;)
 
it works beautifully on my machine. but wow...i cant wait for next wednesday when it gets to the stores...i'm gonna be at target and be the first person in to buy it. i think it totally rocks...graphics are beautiful on my geforce fx5200
 
i like the game, actually... i played for another 2 hours last night.. it's pretty addictive, even on just 1 map :)

my machine is really poorly tuned, which is why i think everything sucks on it :o My ram is 400mhz, but it's running with a clockspeed of 133mhz. every time i set the clock to 200mhz, my comp crashes w/ demanding games :(
 
lol... man, i haven't geeked out my computer in SOOOO long.
I should really invest some money in the thing and toss in an AMD64 and some better ram... and a new mobo.. and a new SATA HDD
 
I've been thinking the same... but every time I do I remember I have a 3ghz p4 sitting in my relatively new Dell 9100 laptop...
 
i have 3 laptops.. but they all 'belong' to work - so i'm kinda stuck having none.
i just keep looking at it and seeing $1000 to upgrade my computer... $1000 will almost buy me a pair of racing seats :P
 
car is more likely to get me laid than the computer will.
although the 6800GT does have a neat little blue LED in it :P
 
It will be nice to have something really push my AMD 64 4000+/ATi XT850Pro/2GB DDR400..It's nice benchmarking higher than jesus.

You can't benchmark higher than jesus, your veritable computer tower of babel will be smited by the wrath of God.
 
well.. seems like i had too much s*** in the background. i formatted the HDD tonight and started fresh.. and the game runs SMOOOOOTH... only when there's about 10 people and 2-3 armored veh. in 1 screen does it lag a little... so i'm pretty impressed
