Back-up light wire color

I'm installing a navigation system, and I need to connect to the reverse light wire. When I dismantled the tail light assembly, it looked like it was the Yellow/Red wire. But that wasn't the case when I cut the same colored wire in the tube along the floor on the driver's side. The reverse lights stayed on when I tested.

Anyone know which wire to tap into?

Thanks.

You can find it Red/Yellow in the drivers side pillar. The wires for the brake assembly run up the pillar and back along the roof instead of below as you would think. What kind of nav are you installing? I have a Pioneer AVIC F90 in mine. I assume you are putting in a back up camera and thats why you need the reverse wire?

I decided it wasn't absolutely necessary. It's a Kenwood DNX-6140, and I opted not to spend an extra $200 on a backup camera. The manual said the nav system could benefit from the knowing when the car was in reverse, but I don't think it makes any difference.
