OKay i am known to screw up basic mechanical tasks so I may have very well installed this thing wrong. between the bar with the new bushings on it and the shiny aluminum adapters AWR included in the kit, there's about a 2 cm gap. on both sides. so of course when i hit a bump there's a really loud clunking noise.
could it be they included the wrong busihngs?

Can you post a pic of the gap so we can see what you're talking about? I've got no clue... a 21mm bushing is 2.1cm, so a 1cm gap is a heckuva lot - is the gap in the bushing itself, or between the bushing and where the bar is? Pics please so we can diagnose.

can you see the gap there? it's on both sides .. i'm not sure if i did something stupid or if the bushings are just too tiny for the brackets.

car handles awesome now but the clunk is loud as s*** that's for sure

they came extra skinny like that in the pic they're just more squashed after 2 weeks of driving. did i miss a step? or are they just wrong size bushings? bueller?

looks like the metal bracket is wrong. To big for the rubber thing. Looks like your rubber thing has fully stretched out cause the swaybar hangs against the metal bracket thats to big.

Now, you see guys thats how you explain things, not with bushings and and all that technical term nonsense. :)
Well actually, if someone wouldnt mind correcting me that would be great, cause I dont know what bushings are, is that the red/pinkish looking rubber part?

It does not look like a bushing is even in there. They had to hav set youthe wrong size or Are you sure you were not supposed to use the old bushings? Or buy new ones? IT actually looks like metal on metal. IF you can stick your finger in that bracket area then you have no bushing in there at all.

Your u-clamps are stretched out. You need new bushings and clamps.

It should look like this. (Sorry for the big pic)

No, I think the bushing is there (assuming a bushing the rubber part), the part that seems like nothing is there is because the we are seeing the part thats cut open to let you put the swaybar in, but since the metal bracket is larger, the weight of the swaybar stretches the bushing and the cut in the bushing making it seem like there is no bushing.

***EDIT***
hahaha I got beat to the punch.

WT?? how do metal u-clamps stretcH (yep true the red thing is stretched and the cut in the bushing makes it look more squashed than it is) unless mazda service put bigger u clamps in when i took it in for clunk fix last year. WTF???

mine looks like o.g. sk8ers, cept my bar doesnt have the ends open revealing the hollowness, plus i painted mine flat black, I'll take a pic later and post it up if you need more

I dont think they could stretch. Did you install the bushing and brackets yourself? do you remember if the bushings fit flush to the brackets? If you didnt do it then it might be alittle harder to figure out how it happened, but yeah, basically its got the wrong brackets. Try getting a smaller pair from home depot or lowes or making your own.
