Auto x at Grattan Raceway

I am gearing up for a autox on laborday. It is on a real track instead of a parking lot.. any suggestions for different driving techs so i don't get schooled too bad by wrx's and the likes of that???(RTM) (enguard) (drive)

what do you have done to be in stx???

I'm completely stock with camber bolts. I have a set of 16" Rota's with Azines, but they're in Ohio so I'll be without them. The PAX isn't much different from DS to STX and I didn't feel like going against a bunch or R-compound clad cars.

did those falkans make a big difference? another person in ds in a wrx got them and i went from beating him by a second to the other way around... I am glad another mazdaspeed will be there. i have been trying to get other people from around here to race but so far no one has(enguard) (drive)

I'd like to think they helped out, if not with overall grip they at least made my gearing lower so I could pull out of slower corners better. (They're an 1" shorter then stock) They heat up quick and had plenty of grip, but I never tested them vs. the stock tires so I can make no claims.

just fyi...Azenis lose grip quickly as they heat up, so a good idea would be to buy a garden sprayer for $10 at home depot and spray your tires down between runs.

I beat ya ...well time wise...I still got beat by those damn STX WRX's

the thing i think is funny is that the guy in the WRX in DS had a faster time than the stx guys. and all he has done to his wrx is a cat back/ falkans. he is a great driver too..(nana)

but also rub the tires down with your hands as you spray them, this helps the water penetrate better and cool faster. If you just spray em, the water beads up and doesn't cool them off as effectively. Wipe em down with your hands and they stay wet longer, cooling deeper into the rubber. Yup, your're gonna get dirty, so bringith thy gloves.
