AT to Manual?

Hi,

I've read that some people converted their manual car to an automatic car and I started to wonder if it possible to do the opposite?

If yes, how much would it cost (around)?

I'm sorry if this is stupid, but I'm quite new to cars and I would like to learn more. :D

Such a swap has been done on many a car make and model. Of course, anything is possible with:

1) Enough money
2) Enough time
3) The right parts/resources

Typically, it is more worthwhile to buy a car with an M/T from the beginning....it's up to you however.

I have been contemplating doing the swap, until I started to do my HiBoost install and started to see how much difference is between the auto and manual P5s. From tranny, to computer, to harness, mounts, shifter, shifter cables, vacuum ports, maybe even axles (?). So I probably will give up on the dream...unless...

might as well go make a custom sequential manual transmission, like they do with rally cars if youve got the dough to throw around. :D

just buy a new car, the pro5 isn't worth it, you could prolly buy one for the cost of the whole conversion

i should search,
but would it possible to install a 6-speed gearbox, or would that not suit my protege.

if your serious just buy a new car, the trade in should work out goodish, unless you've messed around with ya car heaps, and didn't keep the original bits...

plus autos have a higher resale so you should be able to get away with a trade for the exact model for maybe a g... if ya look properly, perhaps a car buying service could help you??

just my two cents
