Hi... I noticed today that I'm getting some vibrations from the car and feeling it on the steering wheel. I feel it alot when I put the car in reverse. I was wondering if any one else feels this. Is this normal?

In my Fuel test thread I spoke about miles per gallon and testing to see if I'm getting the proper fuel consumtion.
I just lowered the grade of my fuel from 93 to 87octain. I was thinking that maybe the vibrations might be related to the change of fuel.
Could this be the problem?

I also wrote a thread about sparkplugs under this forum. I'm planning on changing sparkplugs soon but didn't know if I could do this myself or if anyone has done this to there car and could give me some how to input. Please read my articles on all other topics to know how to give our cars a better feel and to be better maintained.

Does anyone think the vibs could be sparkplug related?
Any feedback is appriciated. Sorry for the long questions but I can't express how much these forums can help all of us to maintaine and better the performance of are cars.
Thank you all. Please reply.

ok first thing first, is you car auto or manual?, I have an auto and everytime I put it on reverse it has a annoying vibration I think it's the crappy trans.

I run 87 octane like a lot of us do here and this is no problem

I dont think the spark plugs have any major effect on this unless you replaced them and gapped them wrong. the car comes with stock NGK standard plugs very easy to change and very good brand.

I have an automatic, and I never changed the plugs. This problem is weird
Anyone has suggestion or comments?

What is your millage, the higher it is, little things start to creep up, and yes the wheel will vibrate a little..

Perfectly normal, part of feeling the road!!

I have and auto 2002 MP5 with 37,200 miles and I'm noticed that when I put the car in reveres why'll holding on the brakes a vibration starts and I feel it threw the steering wheel. I don't think thats normal. I'm thinking it could be a motor mount or the sparkplugs, or even the type of fuel thats in the car (87oct). I'm trying to figure it out (uhm)

Let me ask you; what car did you own before your P5?

If you owend anything American or soft, the P5 will feel very tight and sensative on the road. The P5 has stiff springs and is geared more for the enthusiast who wants room. It is not a comfortable cruiser, it is "sporty".

Your gonna laugh your ass off... (lol) . I had a 1986 Buick station wagon 6cyl. That thing really sucked up gas. But it felt like it had more balls than my used 2002 MP5. Like you mentioned though, the handaling on this car is nice but the tires have to much road noise. I just went to Advanced Auto Parts and ordered some NGK's plantnum sparkplugs. I'm going to install them myself and see if some of the vibrations go down.
See I brought the car used at a Nissan dealership because they gave me a good price but I don't think they did the matinence stuff before selling me the car. So thats why I'm seeing if anyone is experianceing the same small problems that I'm having.
I'm just trying to make the car feel as smooth as possible. What I'm going to do is give the car a coolant, tranny and brake flush after I do my sparkplugs.
And see if there is anything out there like special lubricants to add to the engine or tranny to make it run smoother.
Anyone please feel free to make any comments.
Thanks

I have a 03.5 with 19K miles and I also have slightly noticeable vibration from the engine, transmission & suspension. My demised CRX was faster, handled better and had a more comfortable ride and it didn't have any vibration anywhere. Mazda is building better cars now but they still have a ways to go. I'd like to test drive a 3 to see what it's like.

Could it be your brakes/rotors? My Integra use to do that. Once I had my brakes and rotors changed and it was fine.
