Are underdrive pulleys safe?

I just went to www.srmotorsports.com to check out the new MP3/Protege5 parts and I saw Indigo undrive pulleys. I'm definitely interested but I've witnessed some heated arguments about if they can damage the crank as well as other parts. What do you people think? / If the amount of modifications determines whether they are safe or not, the parts I'm planning to get are listed in the High compression & Nitrous post. Have you people talked about this topic before? If so, could someone please give me some info on where to look for the post? After all the information I have read on this site, I doubt that no one knows about this topic? Any info you guys could give me will be highly appreciated. Thanks, Jon
