anyone taken their front emblem off?

i was wondering this, i might be interested in doing this. my friend removed his nissan logo from the front on his se-r spec v and it looks clean. my cars in the shop right now so i cant really go check on whether or not this would be possible to just pop it off, but i did a crappy photoshop job of what it might look like

problem is when you take it off there is still a mazda emblem shape in the grill

I've taken it off, but there is still the flying M in the hood, only it's black plastic....looks pretty ghey.....I only took it off so I could paint the grill, then I put it back on.....
