is this a headlight conversion..or something else?

Interesting....Gotta be an older 3rd gen because it's got 4-lug wheels...Not sure about the headlights though.

EDIT:The car next to it is also a protege, and looks to be a few in the background as well. The blue(black?) one and possibly the red one also have the same front end.

I was gonna say, it seemed to have a focus-like looking center grill...

Yeah, the ford lynx..I plan on doing the convert in the near future. It isn't that complicated..but it is a laundry list of parts.

Cant be that bad ... fenders, hood, lights, grill, bumper, splash shields, bumper supports. If your doing the rear end THEN it will be hard since there will be metal work involved

you probably need to weld in a new core support from a Lynx for the headlights to mount to...not to mention the fender holes probably wont exactly line up...

all in all its defintely feasible, but by no means would it be bolt-on ;)

LOL its probably easier to do that swap than do the MB kit ;)

bodywork-wise, yes...costwise, prolly not...Id say yur looking at at least 5K just for the front end. About the same as it costs to swap from an 03WRX to 04WRX front end...

If you play the cards right and get in touch with the right people it should cost $5k if not less -- installed. Its like the skylines ... you pay $90k thru Motorex but if you do it the smart way you can get one for $34k or less for a r34 V-Spec ;) a friend just got a 4-door skyline and FTO

Yeah, because the MB is a really tough job..Woopdedo fiberglass work..Thats like routine body work. The lynx convert isn't too complicated. You'd just need like the front 1/4's, hood, obviously the front bumper, upper/lower grills, splash guards, under tray, headlights, and the actual re-bar support for the front. Other than that. It's not that complicated. The only difference in the two cars is the headlights and the way the mold into the front 1/4's..Body work really isn't that complicated at all. No fiberglass, no real issues. It would cost no different than a P5 convert other than the front 1/4's. Real body work is molding in a reiger tuning DTM kit mean't for an audi S2 onto an audi 90..Want to talk about fiberglass work..haha. Thats in the realm of 10k+ body/paint jobs.

There isnt any real body work for the RS swap expect for the welding of a support bar or 2. The rest is just bolt on and electrical unless you swap harnesses. Like I said ... its probably harder to do the MB kit since there is alot of glass work.

MP3-Lynx RS = Integra GSR-JDM Type-R

The front end swap probably is very close to swapping a jdm front on to a usdm integra, getting the parts is gonna be the hard part. Anyone that can do minor bodywork and weld could put the front end on if i had to guess.
