Anyone have the 'rear bumper guards' on their MS3?

Been thinking of getting these on my MS3... I see them on regular 3 hatchbacks pretty often. I'm talking about the two rubber 'pads, that go on the top of the rear bumper and kind of tuck in below the hatch. They are like scuff guards so when you are loading stuff into the back of the car that area is protected and you can set stuff on the top of the bumper.

One big reason I'm wanting to do this is becuase the pain there seems to scratch VERY easily and it's annoying the crap out of me. All this dirt and dust piles up there and when I go to dust it off (California Car Duster) it leaves tons of swirl marks there. Also, I do like the idea of overall protection for when I'm loading stuff into the hatch.

Anyone installed these on their speed 3?

I have them.

cool I didn't know if they were plastic or rubber.

Also, I wasn't even sure if they made them specifically for the MS3 or if they were the same as the regular 3... I'm assuming they are different?

Is it true they attach with double sided tape? Does that mean they don't sit flush on the bumper and dirt can get under them?

Bakrauf - whereabouts in VA are you? Chesapeake here.

I got that cargo net too... funny thing, when I ordered it, they gave me one that specified some other Mazda vehicle on the packaging... an SUV or Minivan I don't remember which model now.. , and the part number was different by one letter. They said it would work fine when I tried to take it back... I put it in the car and it does fit but it seems like it's slightly too loose. Did you notice anything like this when you got yours?

I have them also. I had them on my 2006 mz3 as well. Yes they are stuck on with dubble sided tape, you can also pull on a corner and it will pull away from the bumper a little so i suppose rain watter and such could get under there. However does a good job of protecting the bumper if you use the hatch alot.

I think They are regular 3 and yes they attach with double sided tape. They are pretty darn tight on the bumper i dont think dirt can get under it. BUt even if it does the covers dont move around to make the dirt scratch the paint.

I used to live in Hampton VA, before moving 4 hours north to Strasburg.

They have different ones

Make sure you get the 2007 Mazda 3 rear scuff plates - they have different ones for the earlier models. These also fit on the Speed3. I put them on myself - very easy.

As for the cargo net - it is not loose fiting.

Those scuff plates work great.. i put them on my wifes 05 M3s and they've come in handy. Easy to install; like everyone else mentioned with sticky tape. Just make sure you get them aligned properly before sticking them on, and make sure the area is as clean as you can get it so they stick on there properly.

I got them on my MS3 in fact it was the first thing i bought, then i bought a compass mirror. I recommend getting them due to the functionality of them. It saves paint.

Anyone have the part #? Ordering this and the car cover tomorrow.

Any suggestions as to where I should order these @ the best price?

Thanks!

yeah I have them now, wife picked them up for my b-day. Just need to install them. Will need to wash the car first it's filthy and of course all the dirt just gathers right on the rear bumper.
