Hey, I figured while im dumping tons of cash into the ol MSP, might as well do up my brothers MSM as well. Was going to get a standalone EMS for his and up the boost as well, anyone know a reasonably safe level of boost for the MSM? I figured the 1.8 would be very boost friendly.

no one has perfected it yet... I'm runing 10psi most of the time with no issue..

FM is a few weeks away from releasing the Hydra standalone.

as far as boost level? stock give you boost cut at about10.8.. hafta get aroud that 1st.

otherwise some say the rods will give at much past 12psi on the 99+ cars, but no one has found that out yet on an msm.... Let us know what you find..

good info here mazda-speed.com

I believe that FM has found a few more horses by using the boost already there more effeciently. Free'er exhaust, and intercooler tubings are worth about 20-30hp

we;; they thought that initially (the 20-30hp) but they've been debating that. If you look they've updated their page..

there is power to be made no doubt.. I have the DP, it rocks.. Buy it.

The car is definately effected by heatsoak after a couple runs, so a new IC will show gains. You won't gain any *more* or peak hp, but it will stop you from losing power when it heats up.

The biggest issue with these cars is 1) the ECU - very conservative on timing, and very rich. Also very aggresive in pulling timing due to knock, intake temps etc... 2) fuel. It's starting to look like the MSM doesn't have any larger injectors than a non-turbo miata
