Any photographers in here?

Axe the el cheapo filter kit and just get a good quality (I use Tiffen) circular polarizing filter.
Don't buy the lowest model Nikon speedlight simply because it's a Nikon. Either save up for the upper level Speedlight or go aftermarket and get a different brand. I use a Vivitar 383 flash.

What light do you recommend I want to get one but not sure which one I should get. I want to get something obviously not breaking the bank but decent quality.

What about lenses I want to get a wide lens and one with a better zoom any recommendations on aftermarket brands.

Like I said I use a Vivitar 383 here's a link to the Nikon one...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

I know nothing about Nikon being that I shoot Canon lenses so...
Tokina, Sigma, etc. Are aftermarket brands.

ive been toying with the idea of buying a wide angle lens or a flash unit/remote trigger. but im not sure which to do! the wide angle would make filming my friends biking easier. I need to go to the local shop and play with one.

If you don't mind it, there are websites you can rent lenses for weekends or for a week. I think B&H still does it, but I'm not sure. It may be something to look into Kyle.

+1. Also check out www.borrowlenses.com. My GF works there. Super awesome start-up and they don't usually ask for a deposit like most other lenders :)

thanks for all those replys! i have bookmarked that site and will be renting a wide angle lens early july when i do a bike trip in NYC :D

just gotta get me a cam caddie also for it

ive been debating a gopro, but i havnt been doing as much downhilling/freeriding as I used to. Im doing more trials now and just getting back into street and a gopro wouldnt really fit the bill for those disciplines.

my one friend that I always downhilled with moved to CA, so now im all alone and dont hit up the mountains. plus a day at the mountains cost a bit for a lift ticket and then gas to get them since the nearest one is 130miles away

I use LensRentals.com. No deposit required. Just another option.
