Any photographers in here?

if I won the lottery I'd fly up and hang out in your studio for a day.

also, laraw, check this out. They're very comparable at 400mm and f/8... The bonus is that with the 70-200 + tc, you have a 70-200 f/2.8... with the 100-400, you have a 100-200 f/4.5-5... I don't use 400mm often enough to sacrifice the low light potential and super sharpness of the 70-200. for me, it's a more practical lens. Just food for thought.

another factor was that the 100-400 is a 12 year old lens. Something tells me they're going to make a 100-400 mkII soon, or something very similar but better.

plus I hate the push pull zoom.

ok I'm done!

I guess it'll probably come down to which one I can find for the best deal.

Thanks guys.

I looked for mine for about 2 months every single day on craigslist. In fact, during the week, I probably looked 3 or more times per day.

Yeah, I've been doing the same. I always get nervous about Craigslist though, as they often sell stolen merchandise on there.

There was a thread on POTN... this guy unwittingly purchased a stolen 70-200mm f/2.8L IS on craigslist. Come to find out... (like 8 months later) he was contacted by the police and had to give it up for the investigation.

>_<

The POTN members and Adorama chipped in and bought him a replacement though.
