Android navigation with 2010 CX9

My step Dad is unable to utilize Google maps on his android to broadcast through the car's bluetooth system. I read on the forum that you need to set the connections (Device->Bluetooth-> Settings) to PHONE only to have this capability. When we tried it, the option to deselect the audio is grayed out. Any suggestions?

I use my bluetooth daily. One time, the bluetooth option was grayed out, but it came back on the next time I drove. Try disconnecting the battery to reset it.
